APA website The APA website is an excellent resource.  It is updated regularly, and can provide the answers to whatever questions you have when you are formatting your paper.  Click on Quick Answers  – References in the website to find out how to cite Facebook, Apps, Twitter, YouTube, and so on.  There is also a tutorial that goes through how to format a paper in APA style: .

There is continual change and evolution in the kinds of online sources that may be used for assignments. If you are unsure how to cite a source, and cannot find an example in the APA website, use the format of the most similar source.  Be consistent with your formatting throughout your References list and for your in-text citations.

It may seem confusing knowing how to cite such a wide variety of possible sources.  All of these references require the same simple template of author, date, title, and source: YouTube video, Blog post, Tweet, Facebook update, Wikipedia article, Lecture notes, Press release, Artwork, Information on a page, Map, Review, Interview, Movie, TV show, Technical report, Government report.
